The “mommy makevoer” procedure is one of the most discussed and performed plastic surgical procedure in the world today. It is designed to repair and return a mother’s pre-baby body after giving birth to children. The most common form of the mommy makeover procedure is a combination of a breast procedure along with a tummy tuck and liposuction and may even include fat grafting to the buttocks. The breast procedure performed is dependent upon patient needs and can be a breast augmentation with breast implants, a breast lift (mastopexy), a combination of both a lift with implants, or even a breast reduction. The goal of the tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) is to not only remove excess skin, fat and stretch marks, but also to tighten the abdominal muscles that spread during pregnancy, resulting in the “bulge” that makes some mothers persistently look ‘4 months pregnant’ no matter how hard they diet and exercise.
This procedure is near and dear to my heart. Helping mothers regain self confidence through repairing the toll that pregnancy and motherhood take on their bodies is one of my greatest joys in life and easily the greatest source of career satisfaction for me. I have an incredible level of respect and admiration for dedicated mothers and appreciate the sacrifices they make for the good of their children and families. I saw these sacrifices first hand with my own working mother of NINE children and now with my wife and mother of our three children. Mothers are incredibly special people who deserve to be pampered and to feel comfortable in their own skin even after putting heir bodies through pregnancies and the stresses of raising young children. I truly love watching their self esteem and happiness grow throughout the recovery process.
Below is a PodCast I was interviewed for that gives some useful information about this transformative plastic surgery procedure.
